Gas mixers

Realtime Blending of Combustible Gases

Main features:

  • Gas mixers blend hydrogen (or other gases), from a variety of sources, with natural gas supplied directly from natural gas pipelines. 
  • Gas mixers measure and control the flow rate of both gas streams to maintain a constant ratio at the outlet, even while the overall flow rate changes. 
  • The mixture is set either manually or automatically, a PID supports both functions.
  • Scalable design allows customization for a wide range of gas flow rates.

Flexible Gas Sources

Gas source can be gas cylinders, electrolyzers or other sources at a sufficient inlet pressure. 


Natural Gas from Existing Supply Network

Designed to use natural gas from the same source as standard gas-fired appliances. Eliminates the time and expense of periodically replacing G20 (natural gas) cylinders.


Standard Pressure

Operates with normal natural gas supply pressures between 15 mbar (6” w.c.) and 65 mbar (26” w.c.)


0% to 100% Gas mixture

Maintains constant mixture at the desired ratio, between 0% and 100%, as the combined flow rate to the appliance changes.


Wide range of flow rates

Gas mixers can be designed for a considerable range of power input from residential to utility scale customers.  


Stand-alone or with Microplan Bench

Can be supplied as a stand-alone unit or integrated with a new or existing hydrogen-capable Microplan test bench.


Small Footprint

Chart Screen

Graphical display shows the flow rate for all gas streams as well as the mixture percentage. Full capability to change axis scale and increments. All chart data can be output to a spreadsheet file for review and analysis.


Synoptic Schematic Screen

Graphical display of gas control valves and current flow rates allows users to easily switch between manual and automatic mode. Manually switch the control valves using the computer mouse and keyboard.


Diagnostic Screen

For maintenance and system analysis.


Calibration Screen

Make changes to offset and span calibration values.
